As a Social Media Manager at DameSpeak, I worked on rebuilding community trust for Second Best Coffee, a Kansas City espresso bar navigating a reputational crisis following a staff walkout. In the months following a leadership reset and internal review, I developed and executed a content strategy focused on transparency, consistency, and re-connection. My role involved creating thoughtful, human-centered social content that spotlighted team members, highlighted Second Best’s renewed values, and reintroduced the brand’s voice to its local audience through event promotion and behind-the-scenes storytelling. Despite the crisis, I maintained the brand’s pre-crisis engagement rate of 0.8%, helping preserve its connection to the community through intentional, values-led content.

Produced & posted an array of content focusing on BTS process videos, community event highlights, seasonal menu and product drops, and educational videos.

Results:

  • Maintained a steady engagement rate of 0.80%, aligning with the account’s pre-crisis benchmark.
